The twenty works on exhibition include painting, performance, installation, sound as well as sculpture, showing the incredible breadth of creative practice in, and around, El Salvador. The themes of the exhibition address emigration, violence, and pit first and third world sentiments against each other with irony, gravity and humor.

The exhibition´s curators worked with MARTE-C´s selection team to identify ten impactful artworks made over the past decade by Salvadorans and include works by Mayra Barraza, Simón Vega, Irvin Morazan, Luis Paredes, Rafael Díaz, Ronald Morán, Karlos Cárcamo, Walter Iraheta, Ernesto Bautista and Danny Zavaleta. These artists were in turn invited to nominate an artwork they feel is exemplar, which brought forth work by Mauricio Esquivel, Alexia Miranda, Mauricio Kabistán, Víctor Rodríguez, Eduardo Navas, Natalia Domínguez, Melissa Guevara, Abigail Reyes, Beatriz Cortez and Patricia Domínguez.
